Friday on Facebook

Missing Maine

It's been a week since I got back from Maine, and I'm ready to back again! (FYI - didn't win this trip.  I have family up there in the summer).  If you ever have a chance to go up there I highly recommend it.  Think lots of green, no billboards, plenty of outdoor activities, cool(ish) weather and beautiful scenery.  *sigh*

While I was up there I did make my dad a batch of Dark chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting.  I found the recipe at Brown Eyed Baker.  All I can say is YUM, YUM!  The only thing that would have made them any better is if I had my Pampered Chef Stoneware to bake them in...but it wasn't my house so I have to use what's available.  If you want perfect cupcakes and muffins, I do suggest you get the stoneware! (I would send you a link to a Pampered Chef consultant, but I don't have one.  How crazy is that?)  Anyway, here's the recipe for you to try.

Just My Opinion: Zoya Fast Drops cuts down wait time!

A few months ago I won a Zoya prize pack, which included 2 bottles of nail polish, Zoya Fast Drops and nail polish remover.  I was excited about winning it because it was free of toluene, formaldehyde, DBP (phthalates) and camphor.  So that meant I wasn't so worried about putting it on my 3 year old daughter's fingernails.

When I recieved the package I was a little worried that the two colors I won (karina and loredana mat) were a little dark for my daughter, but she LOVED them!  She calls them sparkly red and silver and feels they are very "princessy".

I had never heard of the Fast Drops before but now that I know about that I can tell you that when I run out of them, I am going back to Zoya to order some more!!!!  After painting mine and my daughter's nails we just add one drop of the Fast Drops (it's kind of like an oil) and in 5 minutes our nails are completely dry!  I have shared this with friends and they too have gone out and bought a bottle for themselves.  The stuff seriously works.  You can find it at http://www.zoya.com/content/38/category/Zoya_Fast_Drops_Polish_Drying_Drops.html

Losing power in the summer in Florida = HOT

Officially Off of Vacation

So.   I'm back.  The week in Maine went WAY too fast (it didn't help that I got sick while I was up there).  I took a few days when I got back to help my parents pack up their house so they can move into a new one.  And on Friday my hubby, kids and I took a "Family Day" and we went to Animal Kingdom at Disney World.  So officially it's done.  I am hoping to get back to my daily posting now.

Recently Best Pet Health, which is a new online store and web-destination for all of the Nutri-Vet products, sent me Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil to try on my silky terrier, King.

One of the main issues I have with King is his dry skin. So I was very excited when Best Pet Health sent me their Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil. I learned that this multi-purpose supplement is rich in EPA and DHA. It helps maximize skin and coat health, promotes a strong immune system and supports joint function.

The oil was easy to use. I just mixed the correct amount with his food. Initially I was worried that he wouldn’t eat the food because the oil would give it a different taste. That worry was quickly extinguished – he gobbled it up!

I later found that the pure oil from wild, non-farmed Alaskan salmon is stabilized with rosemary, a natural antioxidant that provides freshness, purity and taste. I think I'm getting old.

This morning my daughter and I went with some friends to the Museum of Science and History (MOSH) in Jacksonville.  She loved looking at the fossils and digging for them, seeing the turtles and pushing the buttons in the human body. 

Personally, the museum made me feel old!  There is a section of the museum that chronicles the history of Jacksonville so that kids (and adults) can learn about the past.  The last thing in this part was a phone booth.  The kids thought it was great.  But that phone booth made me feel old!!!!  Apparently I wasn't the only one.  Several other women around my age saw the phone booth too and couldn't believe it's in a history museum!  My, how times have changed.

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend and feeling very patriotic!  We weren't able to make it to the Daytona 400 yesterday, but we spent a wonderful day in Lee visiting with lots of extended family.  The town of Lee put on an AWESOME fireworks display with one one of the best finale's I've seen in a long time.  What makes it even more amazing is that Lee is a small town in Florida with only a little over 300 residents!  I hope everyone has a great Fourth of July tomorrow!

24 Hour Giveaway: Who Want To See Cars 2?

This past weekend I went to see Cars 2 with the family before my son went up to Maine for several weeks.  Cars 2 was definetly a much more action packed movie than the original and my son L-O-V-E-D it!
