Review & Giveaway: Capture your memories with Paper Coterie

Recently Mom Select choose me to do a review and giveaway of Paper Coterie.  I love personalized products, so I was extremely excited to see what they have to offer.  Browsing through their website I discovered a variety of creative books, calendars, growth charts, wall decor and more!  I had a very difficult time choosing what I was going to create.

The first thing I chose to create was a poster of our family.  It was so easy!  I just added a picture to the design I wanted.  I have to say I was extremely happy with it when I recieved it - but that's in part to me skimming over the details of the product.  I guess I've been multi-tasking too much!  I expected a shiny poster that I would have to frame.  Instead the poster was made of a breathable fabric that won't crumple, tear or fade and has a special adhesive so they will stick and re-stick to virtually any surface.  The picture above doesn't even do it justice.  It turned out so well that my son's friend thought we had had an artist paint the picture on our wall for us!  The posters come in a 20 x13 or a 30 x 20.  With prices starting at only $14 for the posters, you'll definetly see some more on my walls before too long!

I had some more money I could spend at http://www.papercoterie.com/ so I chose to make a journal for my son.  I thought this would be a great way for him to write down what he thought of the world at 8.  The book was also very easy to make - I just added the pictures.  The book is very well made and professional looking.

When I received my products (which came very quickly!) I was not only absoluetly delighted with the quality of my poster and journal but they had included a cute welcome gift because it was my first order.  The design on the necklace is actually the logo for Paper Coterie.  It's going to go great when I wear my blue shirt for the Gator games coming up. ;-)

Table Setting
But my journey with http://www.papercoterie.com/ doesn't end here.  I was so in love with their products that I have decided to make a recipe book with recipes passed down to me by my great-grandmother.  I've had  a wonderful time collecting the old recipes and pictures of "Mom Sanford", who passed away in 1994 at age 96.  As you can imagine, it's not quite as easy as the poster and journal to put together.  I actually had a little trouble with the design.  However, Paper Coterie offers excellent customer support - choose between calling them, e-mailing them or chatting with them online - and they were able to get me back on track in no time!

Is there any downside to Paper Coterie?  Well, as I love to be honest with my readers during a review I would have to say the only downside is that shipping seems to be a tad expensive.  You may spend $10 or more having your product shipped to you.  I'm hoping in the future they will find a cheaper way to ship - even if it means my products taking a few more day to get to me.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, http://www.papercoterie.com/ is GIVING my readers $40 worth of products of their choosing (you just pay shipping) through the month of August when you use the code BeginAnywhere .  Now, I know it's almost the end of August (which is why I  posted the code last week on my blog).  So I'm happy to announce that Paper Coterie is also giving me 10 codes for $40 worth of free products PLUS shipping to give to my readers!!

Disclosure: I received Paper Coterie Products to review at no charge but my opinions are not influenced in any way by this fact. They are my own.

Review: Time flies - capture it at Shutterfly!

I was introduced to Shutterfly about four years ago and instantly fell in love with them.  The two products that I love the most are their Photo Books and their Christmas Cards.

Photo Books
I have created a Photo Book AT LEAST once a year.  Typically I make them at the beginning of the year to highlight the wonderful adventures that our family have had the previous year.  I really like that they have a variety of layouts - which means that every year my book will look unique.  I've also enjoyed that they continuously update their designs and backgrounds and have even added stickers.  There always seem to be a new choice for me to look at.  I like change!

The other reason I love Shutterfly is their Christmas Cards.  Once again, I really like the variety of options that Shutterfly offers to make a very professional looking Christmas card.  I also like the choice of using as many as 8 photos (at least that's the most I can find) on my card.  So if I can't pick the one picture to represent my family and/or children then I can use several!  You can also choose between flat or folded cards and a variety of card sizes.  If you want some festive Address Labels to go with your cards, Shutterfly can do that too!  They have a variety of address labels for Christmas time and the rest of the year.
It's almost fall so I'm already trying to decide which Christmas cards to use (there are so many to choose from!) and organizing my pictures for our annual memory book.  Time flies - capture it at Shutterfly!

TGIF...seriously.

It's finally Friday!  It's been a crazy (not so good) week with funerals, migraines and kids temper tantrums.  I'm hoping for a nice quiet weekend at home.  Thankfully Irene is passing us by (the reason for the migraine) but I'm praying for those of you who are in the path of her.

Recently a friend of mine informed everyone that she's pregnant.  I'm so excited for her!  I know her husband enters (and wins!) things from this site.  So Joe, these two sweepstakes are posted especially for you!
But we all aren't having babies, so here's some other awesome sweepstakes!

I was very excited today - I recieved an e-mail that I won a Lumix DMC-TS3 digital camera!  When we took my digital camera on my 10 year anniversary trip back in November pieces literally started falling off of it, so I've been in need of one!  I can't wait to receive it and tell you about it.   Apparently it's waterproof, freezeproof and has gps and a compass.  Isn't that crazy?

Wishes can come true...

Yesterday I was wished that I could start winning again after a slow summer (which was mostly my fault because I didn't have much time to enter sweepstakes).  Well, my wish came true!  Yesterday morning the UPS man showed up at my door with a copy of the book Scary School for my son (Ssshhh...it will be part of either his birthday or Christmas present).  Then in the afternoon the mailman left me a $100 gift card to Publix Supermarket (a suprise!) and two USB car chargers (not exactly a win, but they were completely free).  Maybe this is the start of a new winning streak!  Fingers crossed!

This morning I recieved a notice that I will be able to do a review for Paper Coterie(which includes a great giveaway)!  While I wait for my product to review, I was given permission to give my blog readers a special gift.  August is officially "BeginAnywhere" month for Paper Coterie and they want to give you $40 to spending during August with the code "BeginAnywhere".  Isn't that an awesome gift?  Just check out their website at  https://www.papercoterie.com/ and begin creating!

Here are your sweepstakes for today:

I've talked about it...and now it's finally here.

Two things really.

First - a couple of giveaways on my blog I've been promising you!  One is for Prefense Hand Sanitizer.  It's pretty awesome because it's alcohol free, and last all day (through 10 hand washings).  Check it out here - http://winforfun.blogspot.com/2011/08/giveaway-review-prefense-every-day.html  The other giveaway is a for a piece of art from Tallyfiberworks.   These are really cool!  The winner get to choose between owning Red the Robot or Bobby the Young Robot.  Check it out here -

Second - my son finally started his first day of second grade today!  I know I've talked about it for several days but it just came today.  He was pretty excited to go back and see his friends.  Every year I make him a cake for his first day of school.  This year it was in the shape of a Manatee because that was his school mascot.
Okay, now for those sweepstakes you've been waiting for!

Giveaway: Tallyfiberworks makes the old new again with Space Age Art!

Recently I was introduced to the art of Tallyfiberworks, who creates fiber and recycled arts.

The artist, who grew up in a time when space exploration was new, loves to create aliens and space age art.  But that's not where the inspiration ends!  The art teacher, and extremely creative individual, also loves to try new fiber techniques like rug hooking, wire jewelry, sort sculpture, ATC's and felting.  Most recently she has been making recycled aluminum can creations from people, animals to objects.  You can check out all of her wonderful works at her Etsy Shop, on her Facebook Page or on her Flickr Page.

I'm excited to announce that the artist at Tallyfiberworks is allowing me to host a giveaway for one of her space age art pieces!  The winner will be able to choose between Red the Robot Magnet or Bobby the Young Robot Toy (each worth $15).

Red, the Robot is here for you.  Push any of his crystal buttons, either blue, purple or green to virtually help you accomplish anything - but you only get "three" wishes so think before you push his buttons!  He has a small bulb for his head - either he has a great idea or is an air head!  What a character!  3-3/4 inches tall with moveable legs and arms.  Magnet on back.

Bobby the Young Robot landed on Earth today and got seperated from his group.  He is covering up his trembling mouth with his collar.  He is hoping to find a loving home.  Look at his big beautiful, but scared eyes.  Made from brand new kids socks.  All hand sewn and filled with polyester stuffing by the artist.  Eyes are plastic encased inside with plastic hoots.  7-1/4 inches tall of squeezable fun!

Giveaway:  One winner will recieve their choice of EITHER Red the Robot or Bobby the Young Robot from Tallyfiberworks.

Rules:
  • One eligible entry will be chosen as the winner via random.org
  • The deadline for entry is August 20, 2011 at midnight.
  • Limited ot US Residents 18+
  • Please leave your e-mail address so I can contact you.  If I do not receive a response from the winner within 48 hours then I will choose a new winner.

Sometimes Routine's Aren't A Bad Thing!

Sometimes we get stuck in ruts that we need to get out of but at other times we crave routines. After a crazy summer schedule I am actually quite excited that once school starts tomorrow we will be going back to a normal routine. I know I'll hate having my boy not there all the time but it's time for us to get in a routine and he's very excited about starting second grade.

I want to give a congratulations to Angela M., the winner of our RedWeek.com giveaway! I posted another giveaway today and will be posting one more later this week so please check them out!

I've got a bunch of sweepstakes today, so let's get started!

Giveaway & Review: Prefense Every Day Keeps the Germs Away!

My family is always on the move.  Whether it's the park, the zoo, a festival or Disney World - we like to go and do!  Often times the kids don't want to stop and wash their hand, if we can even find a place to wash our hands.  So when Prefense sent me their silicon-based hand sanitizer to review and giveaway I was definetly intrigued.
Hand sanitizers have been around for awhile, so what makes Prefense different from the others?  It is actually the only product that offers protection for up to 10 hand washings after one application - and wihout the drying, redness, cracking, chapping and flaking effects of alcohol!

To my family that's a tremendous benefit in the past week - when we took both a trip to the Jacksonville Zoo and to Disney World.  It basically means two things to my family.  One - I didn't have to constantly think about germs transfering to their skin either from ride handlebars or animals.  I was able to spray Prefense  on their hands when we first got there and it lasted all day!  Two - I don't have to be concerned about my kids (particularly my 3 year old daughter) putting their fingers in their mouth and getting germs in their mouth or sucking on an alchol based sanitizer.  And by the time we left Disney my daughter was sucking her thumb pretty hard!
You may also enjoy these benefit of Prefense:
  • It contains mouisturizing Silica Complex with soothing organic botanicals to prevent dryness, redness and chapping.
  • It has been tested against strains of Staphyloccous aureus including drug resistant MRSA strains.
  • It stops skin to skin transfer of germs.
  • Easy rapid foam application that is invisible and therefore won't stain skin or clothing.
  • Water based formula in nonflammable.
Prefense offers several products including an 8 ounce bottle which over 640 applications (with one spray lasting all day - you're bottle could last almost two years!)  and a combo pack (see picture above).  Prefense can be purchased directly at http://www.prefense.com/product at a great price compared to other retailers.  Or you can purchase at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=bl_sr_hpc?_encoding=UTF8&node=3760901&field-brandtextbin=Prefense).  Use Amazon perks like "Free Super Saver Shipping or "Amazon Prime" for even more savings!

Prefense is giving one of my readers a chance to try out the product for themselves!

Giveaway - One reader will win an 8 ounce bottle of Prefense!

Rules
  • One eligible entry will be chosen as the winner via random.org
  • The deadline for entries is August 21 at midnight
  • Limited to US residents 18+
  • If I do not recieve a response from the winner within 48 hours then I will choose a new winner

Mandatory Entry - Tell me where you think you might use Prefense.

Review: BrytonPick helps you change your flossing habits!

My best friend is a dental hygenist and I kjonw she doesn't want to hear this, but I don't floss like I should.  It's just too incovenient after meals out, traveling or at night when I'm tired after being with the kids.  So I tend to skip it more than I should.  Sorry Jaime.  However, according to the ADA (American Dental Association) statistics I"m not the only one.  Apparently only 12% of the population flosses regularly, mainly because floss in not convenient or easy to use.
I was recently sent the BrytonPick, a reuseable and portable product designed to be used daily, when on the go, to remove food debris and plaque from between teeth after meals and snacks.  The credit card size carry pouch fits in any wallet, purse or pocket.  It has flexible stainless steel edges and is as thin as floss.  The stainless stell is germ resistent so all you have to do to clean it is use a napkin, tissue or hot water.  BrytonPick should be replaced every thirty days.
The BrytonPick has been really easy to use and because I travel so much, it's been extremely convenient!  Visit Bryton pick at http://www.brytonpick.com/ for more information.  BrytonPick is available at Meijer Store, A&P, Pathmark, Winn Dixie, C&S, Kinney Drugs, Save Mart, CVS.com, Drugstore.com, Pearson Dental Supply and others!

Review & Giveaway: RedWeek.com makes Budget-Friendly Family Vacations Possible!

If you have been following my blog for very long, then you know that one of my family's favorite things to do is travel!!!  We take a lot of day trips and occasionally take overnight trips when we can afford them.

Recently RedWeek.com, an online marketing site for timeshare rentals, contacted me about doing a review and giveaway for membership to their site.  I was intrigued when I found out that their site offers great travel bargains for families such as my own.
So what is the benefit of RedWeek.com?
When a timeshare owner can’t use their weeks, they can rent them out.  RedWeek.com allows you to rent timeshares directly from the owners.  That typically turns into a 50% saving from hotel rooms.  It also means that you and your family can stay in a place that has separate bedrooms, a dining area, living room, patio or balcony and a kitchen.   My family would definitely be much more comfortable in a place like that!  The ability just to make meals in a kitchen rather than eating out every meal would save us TONS of money!  And just like a hotel you receive maid service to help keep the place clean, supply fresh towels and linens and carry out the garbage.  In addition many timeshares have resort amenities included in the rental prices, such as swimming pools, playgrounds, tennis courts, arcade game rooms and more.

RedWeek.com is a very easy site to use.  It allows you to find timeshares in categories such as “kid friendly” and “pet friendly”, as well as specialty destinations like “golf” or “beaches”.   Since I won my family annual passes to Disney World in March I decided to do a search in Kissimmee, FL (right by Orlando) to see if I could find a great deal on a timeshare rental for a week.  And boy did I find it!  I found a timeshare rental for one week in September for only $25 A NIGHT!!!  In addition to the timeshare ammenities I mentioned above, the place includes a DVD player, internet access, Jacuzzi tub, washer and dryer and more!    What a great deal!!!

RedWeek.com has given me a free one-year membership for a year and is offering a free two-year membership for one of my readers! Why would you want to have a RedWeek.com membership? Only with the membership can you contact owners about their units, post your timeshares for rent or sale, have access to Dial An Exchange, read and post resort reviews and access RedWish vacation want ads.
With over 1.5 million registered users, no middle man and no commission this is truly a travelers hassle free dream!

One lucky Win For Fun reader will win a two-year membership to RedWeek.com!
Rules:
  • One eligible entry will be chosen as the winner via random.org
  • The deadline for entries is August 11, 2011 at noon.
  • Limited to US residents 18+
To Enter:
Please leave a separate comment for each entry and provide your email address

*Mandatory Entry* : Visit RedWeek.com, tell me where you would like to take a vacation and name the specific resort where you found the cheapest timeshare rental rate! (You will need to make a guest account).

Review: Surviving Time Island!

Every summer my son and I love trying to find new and interesting things to do to break up the summer.  When I was chosen to review a new online video game called Time Island I was excited to try it with him.  My seven-year-old loves playing video games but mostly plays our Nintendo Wii and DS.  So I was interested in seeing how he would enjoy an online game.

Time Island is a virtual game world design for 6 to 10 year olds.  The game takes place on an imaginary island.

The island is also inhabited by a bad green creature, called Groggs. (See below).  If a Grogg catches you it steals away energy from you.

On Time Island you have to survive nature as well as do-at-home activities (it will let you know if you are hungry, cold or stinky and you must do something about that!)  You can check out the game at http://www.timeisland.tv/

Setting my son up on the game was extremely easy.  He liked that he was able to choose his name, his character and what he wore.  I liked that I was able to choose whether or not he was allowed to chat online to other gamers.  It was definetly a great time to have a discussion with my son on both the dangers and the the etiquette of chatting online with people he did not know.

While the actual game was a little confusing to me, my son thought it was great!  He really enjoyed going around the "island" and finding a variety of different games within the game to play.

He thought that the only downfall was that there was a tore but he couldn't find any money to spend there.  However, I know that the longer he plays the game he will learn to find resources rather than just spending money in a store on what he needs.

In a "gimme" world, I like that.  Several times he has had friends over and they've played it together.  I think it will be a game that he really sticks to.  If you have a child between the ages of 6 and 10 I would recommend you check out the game.  http://www.timeisland.tv/

Disclosure: This post was written for MomSelect and Time Island who provided the information, product(s) in exchange for my honest opinions. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All opinions and thoughts expressed in this post are my own, and different people may have different outcomes.

Just because the summer's ending, doesn't mean the fun is!

There are often a lot of travel sweepstakes I don't enter because we are a family of four and I hate to leave the kids out of all the fun.  I was so excited to find these sweepstakes because they are for a family or four and my kids would love to go there! (Okay, maybe my son's a little old for Sesame Place...but I know he'd be a good sport about it!)

Win A Trip to Disney World Resort Sweepstakes - Enter once by August 15 to win a trip to Disney World including 2 nights at a Deluxe Disney Resort, one night in Cinderella's Castle, four 4-Day Magic Your Way passes and air transportation.

Giveaways and Reviews coming soon...

Make sure you check this page often these next couple of weeks.  I will be posting a review about the online game Time Island, hosting a review/giveaway for a timeshare membership, hosting a revies/giveaway for a recycled art piece and much more!  But for now, here's me finally catching up from being offline for a couple of days!

One of my favorite prizes - Gift Cards!

If I could choose to win in anything in a sweepstakes it would be cash.  However, my second favorite thing to win is gift cards!  In the past two years I've won over $250 in Best Buy Gift Cards, $200 in grocery gift cards, $150 in drugstore gift cards and more.  Here are some gift card sweepstakes for you to try out.

What did you win in July?

I have to admit, it's been a busy month for me.  I love my sweepstakes and all my wins, but family time is much more important...and there's been a lot of family time in July!  I think I ended up entering sweepstakes about 2 or 3 times per week this month.  School is back in session in a couple of weeks so I may have a little more free time then to enter a few more sweeps and hopefully win a few more things!

I did win one thing.  A one-year subscription to Coastal Living Magazine.  My mom is ecstataic.  She loves the magazine but decided not to renew because it is not a cheap one.  So I'll definetly be passing them down to her!

Whether it was a sweepstakes from my site or another I'd like to know..

What did you win this month?
