Rascal Flatts Theatre Event - A Great Introduction to Their New Album!

I think that from the moment that I heard Rascal Flatts I was a fan.  Sadly, I have not seen them in concert yet.  I almost did this past February but my husband had to go out of town for work that night (which he only does about three times a year!) and I had no one to watch the kids.

So when One2One Network offered to send me to the Rascal Flatts Theatre Event on April 5 I was excited.  Sure, it's a concert on the big screen and not in person but it gave me a chance to "see" Rascal Flatts and listen to both their new and old music without my sweet, yet demanding, kids interrupting.

Rascal Flatt's new album "Changed" had hit the stores on April 3...just 2 days before.  But in my world of kids, a husband and a household to run I have to admit that downloading the new album or stopping by the store to pick it up hadn't quite made it on my radar.  So, Thursday night was the first time I was able to hear their new songs.

In retrospect I'm glad I didn't have the album until after the Event.  The movie wasn't just watching them play their music.  It was a look into Jay, Gary and Joe Don (the band members of Rascal Flatts) thoughts and lives.  And more importantly (at least to me) it gave me background on what the songs were about and why they were important to Rascal Flatts.  I wouldn't mind watching an event like this for all my favorite bands new albums.  I think it builds a deeper sense of connection.

With the limited amount of time plus the interviews, question and answer period and the older songs, there just wasn't time to play ALL the songs from their new album during the Rascal Flatts Theatre Event.  I was impressed with the ones I heard - especially "She's Leaving", "Come Wake Me Up", and their title-track "Changed".  Lucky for me my local country radio station in Jacksonville WQIK gave half the audience their new CD and I got one!  I have to say that the rest of the album was just as good.  You should definitely pick it up if you haven't already!

Does the Rascal Flatts Theatre Event replace my need to see them in concert? NO!  It was a great introduction to their new album and makes me want to see them even more!  Luckily I am happy to tell you that you can click the picture below and enter to win a fly away to see Rascal Flatts in concert!
